Job Details
- Location: Bollinger Shipyards, Lockport, LA 70374
- Work schedule: Minimum of 40 hours per week. Schedule may require up to 7 days per week depending on project/vessel schedule.
- Duration: This is a full-time position in support of a new construction program.
Job Duties
The electronics installer will:
- Report to the shipyard daily to perform assigned task without excessive instruction.
- Use technical manuals and drawings to assemble, install, and terminate equipment. Inspect and test connectors including fiber, coax, multi-pin, and crimp lugs for various maritime communication systems.
- Use and maintain all company-issued tools and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to cell phone, laptop, company work vehicle, specialty tools, and equipment.
- Utilize PPE and the stop-work authority and follow all company HSE standards.
Job Requirements
The electronics installer must:
- Have strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
- Have 3+ years of marine electronic installation experience, preferred but not required.
- Have the ability to read and understand electronic schematics.
- Have the proven ability to use a multi-meter for basic electrical measurements.
- Have authorization to work in the US.
Physical Requirements
The electronics installer must be able to:
- Lift 60 pounds above head and carry 40 pounds for short periods of time.
- Perform the following tasks for an extended period: stand, squat, stoop, kneel, push, pull, and work with hands above shoulders.
- Climb stairwells and ladders and perform high-height service using fall-protection equipment.
Compensation
- $15.00-$25.00 USD per hour, depending on experience
