- High school diploma or equivalent/university or technical training
- Formal ROV operator training
- Experience and skills in electronic/electrical/mechanical/hydraulics
- Current, valid offshore medical certificate
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check
- Subject to random drug screening throughout employment
- Capable of passing HUET/BOSIET certifications
Job Description
The pilot technician II is expected to maintain a professional appearance and disposition at all times, exhibiting professional courtesy whenever dealing with co-workers and/or other persons involved with job project. The pilot technician II will:
- Assist the ROV supervisor in determining field solutions and resolving project barriers.
- Adhere to all C-Innovation policies and procedures.
- Foster a professional and safe work environment.
- Observe safe working practices and adhere to electrical principles and industry standards.
- Perform piloting, navigation and log keeping.
- Read schematics.
- Strive to learn new technical and operational issues while on the job.
- Foster the mentoring of ROV trainees in the field.
- Report to the ROV supervisor while on board the installation or report to the operations manager, operations coordinator and/or personnel logistics department while on shore.
- Be capable of the launch and recovery of the ROV system.
- Perform all duties within the safe operating parameters for the handling system.
- Ensure that the ROV is checked before and after a dive in accordance with relevant pre- and post-dive check lists.
- Follow lock out and tag out procedures in accordance with C-Innovation policies.
- Perform weekly and monthly system maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and presentable workspace.
- Have an adequate understanding of the system being worked on, as well as practical experience of that class of system.
- Be aware of the hazards that may arise during the work, as well as the precautions that need to be taken.
- Have the ability to recognize whether it is safe for work to continue at all times.
- Understand and operate within the established company HSE policies and operating standards.
- Operate the ROV system as directed by the system supervisor/superintendent.
- Be familiar with all relevant task procedures, ensuring operations and data recording are carried out correctly.
- Carry out planned maintenance and repairs on the ROVs and associated equipment as required.
- Be willing to work offshore in harsh weather environments on a rotation or call-out basis.
- Repair and maintain the ROV hydraulic/mechanical systems.
- Maintain the mechanical spares shipboard inventory.
