The fuel rigger is responsible for carrying out orders from the fuel coordinator and/or his designated fuel dispatcher. The fuel rigger's duties include the pumping of all fluids sold by the facility. The rigger must be familiar with the use of all types of pumping equipment. In addition to classroom training, hands-on training is required and shall include proper handling and storing of diesel transfer and related fuel equipment.
Duties
The fuel rigger will:
- Properly handle and store diesel transfer hoses and related fuel equipment.
- Have a working knowledge of the fuel system at the facility.
- Clean and paint all fuel related equipment.
- Perform daily maintenance on the fuel and water systems, including greasing the fuel and water pumps.
- Perform maintenance and upkeep of the filter press.
- Adhere to and comply with company policies, OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Assist with training of SSE personnel as needed.
- Perform any other additional duties that may be required or assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC card)
- Due to high volume of applicants, 6 months' prior fuel experience is preferred but not required
- High school diploma preferred but not required
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, background check and fuel rigging class
- Subject to random drug screening
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Compensation
- $12.00-$13.00 hourly
- Main schedule of 7 on, 7 off
- 12-hour workdays, 84-hour work week
