Duties
The electrician will:
- Adhere to safety procedures.
- Analyze operation of malfunctioning electrical or electronic equipment.
- Test and troubleshoot motors and motor control systems and pumps.
- Preferably have a knowledge of A/C systems.
- Construct or fabricate electrical parts or fixtures.
- Inspect electrical installation for code conformance.
- Install electrical conduit or tubing.
- Install electrical fixtures or components.
- Install electronic power, communication, control or security equipment or systems.
- Install lead-in wires to control boxes and other components.
- Preferably have a knowledge of overhead crane systems.
- Install/connect electrical equipment to power circuit.
- Install/string electrical or electronic cable or wiring.
- Lay out electrical wiring for buildings, etc.
- Maintain records, reports or files.
- Order or purchase supplies, materials or equipment.
- Plan layout of electrical/electronic equipment installation.
- Repair electronic components, equipment or systems.
- Repair or replace electrical wiring, circuits, fixtures or equipment.
- Splice electric cable.
- Test electrical/electronic wiring, equipment, systems or fixtures.
- Test electronic or electrical circuit connections.
- Understand service or repair manuals.
- Use electrical or electronic test devices or equipment.
- Use soldering equipment.
- Use voltmeter, ammeter or ohmmeter.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC card)
- Due to high volume of applicants, 6 months' prior electrician experience is preferred but not required
- High school diploma preferred but not required
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check
- Subject to random drug screening
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Compensation
- $16.00-$22.00 hourly
- Main schedule of 7 on, 7 off
- 12-hour workdays, 84-hour work week
- Meals provided during training days
