Crane/Winch Electrician


The crane/winch electrician will:

  • Diagnose electrical problems, install and rewire electrical components.
  • Examine and test machinery, equipment, components and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning.
  • Install or replace machinery, equipment and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand or power tools.
  • Disassemble broken or defective equipment to facilitate repair and reassemble equipment when repairs are complete.

Required Education/Experience

  • High school diploma (college courses completed preferred)
  • Knowledge about basic tools, specialty tools and test instruments
  • Effective verbal and written communicator
  • Decision making and troubleshooting abilities
  • Understanding legal and commercial requirements and practices related to the ship repair/building industry
  • Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, procedures, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic control system
  • Flexibility for travelling world wide to support the fleet
  • Nights/weekends for on-call reporting
