Duties

  • conduct business with European vendors at an approximate order volume of $150M in marine vessel equipment, specifically vessel propulsion systems
  • procurement, organizing what is purchased, scheduling / re-scheduling deliveries and interfacing with shipyards to ensure equipment is received and functional
  • mediate between vendors and shipyards throughout acquisition / commissioning process
  • utilize bilingual capabilities to inerface as company representative with European equipment vendors, to include financial issues and finding the best possibles prices through obtaining quotes from various vendors
  • use prior experience / knowledge of the European business trade throughout the procurement phase in an attempt to streamline the needs of Edison Chouest Offshore

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters in Businees Administration or equivalent
  • five years progressive experience in related technical position with a focus on vessel propulsion equipment
  • must have bilingual capabilities to include English and at least one prominent European business language
  • thorough knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems with a focus on vessel propulsion
  • proven track record of strategic, marketing and technology management
  • previous experience with / working knowledge of European marine propulsion manufacturers

Compensation

Our pay is commensurate with experience and very competitive with the rest of the industry. this position will be salaried and work from our corporate headquarters in Galliano. Benefits include:
